My Supports
Three supports that help me most of the time are my family, my friends, and my children’s school and care programs. My family and friends are people I can talk to about whatever is on my mind. My husband enables my children to go to the schools I want them to go to and shows my children the male aspect of spiritual life. He helps keep the house organized and makes sure we have a roof over our head and food on the table. Schools help me to teach my children, and child cares enable me to help other children.
What if one of my children died? I would probably find some way to blame myself. I would want my husband and children not to blame me, however. I am glad that I could talk to my friends about it, and they would accept me and try to make me feel better. I might also need to talk to a professional, and I might need some time off of work.
I am so lucky that nothing like this has ever happened to me. My sister knows a mom whose two week old baby died this week. Please pray for her,

I'm sorry to hear about that mother, may she find peace and serenity in her network around her. Having a support system how I'm able to deal with life on a whole. Family, friends, and co-workers are the important ingredients that balances out our daily sanity.
ReplyDeleteI respect your post Elizabeth. I could not even imagine what I would do or think if I lost my child. I will also be sure to pray for the mom who lost her child. Thanks for your post.
ReplyDeleteHi I enjoyed reading your post and yes we always need support from family and friends. In our most difficult moments that's when we realized who our true friends are. I feel the same I don't know what I would do if something would happen to my children. I love my children and they will always come first in my life. Prayers for the mother that lost her baby. One of my friends at work her daughter died couple months ago at 4 months. This is her second child that died from the same disease. It hurts me when I hear the story imagine her. Great post!!!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth I was struck by how prominently your husband appeared in your discussion of support. Even within the groups of people who support us there are those that are extremely important to the success of our day to day activities. It sounds like you have a wonderful supporter in your husband.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear about the mother who lost her child. I will be praying for her and her family.
